About 3-4 weeks, sometimes longer, depending on the
rate of hair growth. However, it can take a few times
to get into that routine. It usually takes 3-4 waxings
for hair to get into the same growth pattern.
- How long does the hair have to be before waxing?
Hair should be about 1/4" long, which means 1 1/2 and 2 weeks growth after shaving.
Your brows can usually be a little shorter.
- Does it hurt?
The first time it hurts more than other times. This is partly because of apprehension, fear
of the unknown. It feels like a band- aid being pulled quickly. After the first time and with waxing regularly, less hair returns so you are removing less hair, resulting in less pain.
- Will the hair grow back thicker, stronger and darker?
NO! When the hair is shaved, it is cut off at the thickest portion of the hairshaft, resulting in stubble the next day. A properly waxed hair is removed from the root and when the hair grows back it is smooth and tapered. Sometimes, if a client has never removed the hair from the upper lip, they can now witness it growing back which can be misinterpreted as thicker.
